It has been said that faith can move mountains, and the founders of ESA have no shortage of faith in themselves, the company, and the team. There is a support structure and deep belief that runs through the heart of ESA, that our collective skillsets can deliver on our promises to our clients.
Over the years, the team has made strategic changes in our approach to construction and the economy. In 2004, ESA was called upon to provide disaster relief for Hurricane Ivan. The team felt strongly compelled to be a part of the recovery process for our communities and we continue to support relief missions as part of our services.
The year 2009 witnessed another strategic move with ESA becoming a federal prime contractor. Our team worked hard to learn all we could to become competitive in this sector. We have had the privilege to form many lasting industry relationships that have helped us build a reputation for excellence in project delivery, and it has been our distinct pleasure to deliver projects that support veterans and further the mission of our military.
In 2018 Malcolm and Sean agreed to strategically position ESA to surpass the SDVOSB size limit and become a large business competing in the unrestricted federal business size category. With that in mind, we continued to invest and expand ESA in 2020 when other businesses were pulling back. This expansion, along with our strategic industry relationships, has strongly positioned us for continued growth.
